Sea Mongrels
When you think of the Whitsundays you imagine pristine water, lovely white sand and most of all hot sunny days. Well it has rained everyday since we have been here. We had to abandon the tent on Garry's birthday and can't wait to leave it behind in Brisbane. The water is all churned up due to the heavy rain and wind which is hindering our snorkelling experiences.
It's tough in paradise eh? The sun has come out for a few hours today for our trip to Whitehaven Beach and we have been swimming in the sea which is pretty clear and gorgeous.
Garry's birthday was spent on Hook Island where the staff cooked him a cake. Aaahhh.... We met a guy who is kayaking to New Guinea - 3000km. See his website above. Crazy, but cool.
This is the view from our tent out onto Hook Passage and the beach leading to the fringe coral reef. We took a semi submersible out to the coral gardens where there was the most amzing coloured fish and coral. Each night we fed the fish - hundreds of them came to say hi.
