Rain, rain and rainforests
We know it is supposed to rain in the rainforest, but this is supposed to be the dry season! We have been in far north queensland for 10 days now and it hasn't stop raining since we arrived. Today our tent is in a pool of water. We are high up in Daintree National Park doing some great walks. The rainforest is amazing and you can't hear yourself think above the sounds of the birds and animals.
We have seen koalas, wallabies and kangaroos - put your own captions to the photos! We went on a boat trip down the Daintree river and saw crocs, snakes and frogs. We didn't see the big crocs, but there was one 2 and a half metres long - big enough! So much wildlife ... too much wildlife!!!!This monster looks like it should be 7 metres long, but is in fact a baby - only 2 years old and about 90cm! Snap your hand off tho'...
We are now in the more sedate Atherton Tablelands where there are various lakes and waterfalls. We have parrots flying around our tent and some friendly turkey like ducks. It's still raining tho'.
